WBRC Announces CNVR Program Coordinator

WBRC is proud to announce that Anthony Chambers has accepted the position of Comprehensive Neurological Vision Rehabilitation (CNVR) Program Coordinator.  He started in this new position on June 1st, 2015.  Mr. Chambers has been an Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist at the WBRC since October of 2012 and is also cross-trained in CNVR, iProgram, Computer Access Technology, and Manual Skills.  Mr. Chambers completed a 2 year Technical Career Field (TCF) internship at the WBRC prior to 2012 as well as an additional internship program at the WBRC in the O&M Department in 2009.  Mr. Chambers has a Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University in O&M and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Western Michigan University.  He is accredited by ACVREP as Certified O&M Specialist.  Congratulations Tony!

WBRC Announces New Living Skills Supervisor

WBRC is proud to announce that Ms. Elise Vaughan has accepted the position of WBRC Living Skills Department Supervisor.  She started in her new role on May 31, 2015.

In 2011, Elise received a Masters of Arts in Blindness and Low Vision Studies, Vision Rehabilitation Therapy from Western Michigan University.  Elise joined the WBRC in 2011 as a WBRC Blind Masters Trainee with internships in Orientation & Mobility and Living Skills.  She is dually certified through ACVREP as a COMS and CVRT.  She is cross-trained in iProgram, is Co-Chair of the WBRC Communication Committee, and is actively involved in program development.  In addition to her strong skill set as a Blind Rehabilitation Therapist, Elise has also demonstrated her ability to be an effective and efficient department lead, utilize strong system redesign skills to empower and engage coworkers, and promotes the respect, awareness and acceptance of all patients served at the WBRC.  Elise embraces a patient-centered perspective and encourages self-advocacy.

WBRC Welcomes New CATs Instructor

WBRC is proud to announce that Matthew Vitale has accepted the position of WBRC Computer Access Training (CATs) Instructor.  Mr. Vitale started on June 1, 2015.  He completed his Master’s Degree in Orientation and Mobility (O&M) at Western Michigan University in May of 2015.  Matthew completed his Graduate Level O&M internship at the WBRC earlier this year and is an ACVREP certified O&M Specialist (COMS).  Welcome to the WBRC Team Matt!
